Axiom Space Makes Texas Its Legal Home
Axiom Space has officially redomiciled from Delaware to Texas, aligning its legal address with its operational headquarters in Houston, where the company has been based since its founding in 2016.
The move is largely administrative but carries strategic weight. Texas has aggressively positioned itself as the center of the commercial space economy, with the state legislature committing $450 million through various funds since 2023, including a $300 million grant package approved in 2025. Axiom Space is among the direct beneficiaries, having received a $5.5 million grant through the state's Space Exploration and Aeronautics Research Fund to advance its orbital computing capabilities.

Axiom employs approximately 700 people, most of them in Texas. The company's Houston footprint includes an Assembly Integration and Test Facility at Ellington Airport's Houston Spaceport, where modules for Axiom Station will undergo final processing before launch, a Space Station Development Facility, and the spacesuit lab producing the AxEMU suit that will return astronauts to the lunar surface.
The announcement follows Axiom's recent unveiling of the Liquid Cooling and Ventilation Garment for the AxEMU suit, developed in partnership with Prada.
