SpaceX launchs NROL-95

NROL-95

With a small group of dedicated media, multiple millions of dedicated mosquitos held off by a gentle breeze, SpaceX sent its latest payload off from SLC #40 on a NE trajectory.

Working on a contract awarded 2 years ago by the National Security Space Launch program, the classified NRO (National Reconnaissance Office)  sent NROL-95 on its way. The U.S. Space Force, Space Launch Delta 45 & Space Systems Command provide key support to the NROL for this launch

Typical of all NRO launches, few if any public details have been released. This launch was the 4th time that NRO has placed satellites in orbit. The previous being NROL-105, NROL-172 & NROL-179, all of which were launched from Vandenberg Space Force Base, Ca in what is an expected N-S orbit.

Roughly 8 ½ minutes later, the first stage booster set down at LZ-2 sending off a sonic boom that awakened more than a few dogs, set off car alarms as well as some light sleepers.
